Short wave quartz infrared heaters are comprise finely coiled tungsten filament surrounded by a quartz glass and kinds of halogen gas.
The quartz glass envelope allows transmission of IR energy and protecting the filament from convective cooling and corrosion.
Halogen cycle ensures constant infrared efficiency all the lifetime with preventing the quartz glass from blackening. The rated life of short wave infrared heater is around 5000 hours.

Short-wave Infrared emitters produce infrared waves of around 0.75 – 1.4 microns in wavelength and operate at high temperatures above 1,300 – 2,6000C. Since these wavelengths have higher frequencies, they tend to be more transmissive and reflective.
In contrast to all other heating processes, it is not necessary to use a transmission medium with infrared technology. In other heating methods, for example, first the air is heated, which in turn heats the material. This does not happen lossless and makes these processes inefficient and not environmentally friendly. In short-wave infrared radiation, however, the environment remains completely unaffected by the radiation and only the body is heated. This physical property makes shortwave infrared emitters unsurpassed in their efficiency.
