7 matters need attention for mounting IR heaters lamps

Here are 7 tips for lamp fixing:

1. Be careful when moving the heating lamp.

Because of the fragile material (quartz glass ) and special structure of the infrared radiation lamps, the quartz tube and the heating wire inside are easy to break.

(1) Avoid picking up the heating lamp from the ends with one hand, because the end of the quartz tube (especially the pressure seal area) is easy to break.

(2)Try to wear soft gloves during picking up and installing quartz IR emitter. It can prevent the quartz glass tube from being dirty, and avoid scratching the operator's hands if it breaks.

2. Installation location

(1) Enough space should be left between the ceramic cap of the heating lamp and other items such as frames.

(2) Please avoid rigid fixing when installing the heating lamps. Although the thermal expansion of the quartz IR emitters is smaller, the equipment frames installing lamps may be deformed during the heating process, and the rigid fixing will cause damage to the quartz tube.

(3) There will be two installation points for each heating lamp usually. But for an overlong lamp, sometimes the 3rd mounting clip has to be used. In this case, please must be sure that the three fixing points are in a straight line.

3. The sealing area of vacuum IR lamps such as fast medium wave IR emitters and carbon fiber heater lamps, cannot be placed in the heating area over 300C degrees. The connection material inside of lamps’ sealing area is molybdenum, and the expansion coefficient of molybdenum is smaller than that of quartz material. At the same temperature and heating time, the molybdenum sheet will expand first, but the quartz tube will not, which will cause cracks in the quartz tube and air leakage. Once the vacuum lamp leaks, it can no longer be used.

4. The infrared radiators should be installed horizontally to avoid uneven heating caused by the sagging filament of the lamp. If there are special requirements for inclined or vertical working, please let us know during the inquiry, and some special measures will be taken.

5. Regardless of whether the lead wire of the infrared lamp has an insulating layer or not, it is recommended that you cover it with insulating glass fiber to avoid possible leakage hazards.

6. For heating lamps with a reflective coating, please turn the side without a reflective layer towards the object to be heated. And please avoid scratching the gold-plated reflector with hard objects during installation.

7. Do not touch the quartz IR lamps when they haven't completely cooled to avoid possible burns. High-power heating lamps have strong visible light during work, please do not look directly with the naked eye to avoid eye irritation.
